A touching story about the theme: Skinned Deep

Skinned Deep, an American Slasher film by Gabriel Bartalos and released in 2004, is highly recommended for those who are fans that love the horror genre. The Rockwell family wanders off on the highway and winds into a strange family due to. This family consists of a mother and her three sons, who go by the names of Brain, Plates, and Surgeon General (Jason Dugre and Warwick Davis respectively) (Kurt Carley). As the story unfolds it becomes clear that the family's involvement in illegal activity and presents danger to the rockwells. This is not a surprise.

Skinned Deep is an unforgettable horror flick due to the over-the-top sets, its funny moments, and its rapid-fire cutting. The speed and comedy of the film was praised by the reviewer from Variety, Dennis Harvey, who described the movie as "funny and extremely repetitive." However, Steve Barton of Dread Central just gave the film 2.5 stars, noting its excessive use of cliches from the past and predictable plot as reasons for his score. Due to the special effects, its aesthetic that is reminiscent of the 1980s, and its frantic pace, Ryan Larson of Bloody Disgusting said it was "one some of the greatest and completely bizarre horror films in the 2000s."



The slim budget that the film was able to get was not enough to keep Bartalos from creating a thriller film in the vein of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre or The Hills Have Eyes. Instead, he invented an slasher/science fiction combination which is completely incomprehensible on top of being completely off the mark. The fact that Bartalos had previously worked on effects of well-known horror films like "Frankenhooker" along with "Brain Damage" prior to working on "Skinned Deep" is evidence of his penchant for the absurd.
